A community implies a collection of people with varied interests. Specialized areas of interest for like-minded Christians become centered in clubs and groups within the framework of Ascension's community. See the General Directory link in the left column for contact persons for each group.

Their main function is making tray favors for three convalescent homes and preemie caps for the premature babies at Good Samaritan Hospital; they also help make layettes for Catholic Social Services. The craft group has many social occasions, such as monthly birthday parties, potluck lunches and outings to interesting places in the area. They are always looking for more hands and new friends.
Welcome Coffee Committee
The Welcome Coffee Committee arranges for serving coffee, juice and doughnuts after the 9 and 11 am Masses on Sunday. The purpose of the welcome coffees is to encourage fellowship and build community. Each week's coffee is sponsored by a different Ascension group thereby allowing the parish community to become aware of the many active groups within our parish.
Couples Bridge
Couples Bridge at Ascension is a social club for those couples who enjoy playing party bridge. In August of each year, a schedule of play is planned for groups of four couples to meet at the home of the host couple once a month, September through May. Small cash prizes are awarded to the couples with the best monthly results, and for the best year-end total scores. New couples are always welcome.
Ladies Bridge
Ladies Bridge at Ascension Parish has existed about as long as the parish. There are six tables of play and 24 people. Play is on the first Wednesday of the month from September through June. New members are always welcome to join. Funds from monthly collected dues have often been given to volunteer organizations.
